Situated at the Brescian shore of Lake Garda, not far from the waters of San Felice del Benaco, the Island has always been a symbol of great mysticism (San Francesco from Assisi founded the first small community on the Island). Today it owes its fascination to its extraordinary villa built in Neo-Gothic-Venetian style which was designed by the architect Luigi Rovelli in the early 19th century. This imposing and harmonious building is full of surprising architectural details. One of its jewels is the beautiful canvas made by Carlo Carloni which dates back to the 16th century. At the villa's feet breath taking terraces and blooming Italian style gardens are sloping down to the lake. You will find yourself sourrounded by luxuriant and unspoiled vegetation offering a wide choise of local and exotic plants, rare scents and unique flowers. The heavanly woods are made of pine and cypress trees, acacias and lemon trees, magnolias and agaves. The Island is magic and mystery and the sound of the bird songs seem to echo the joyful spirits of those who have respected, cared for and loved this place throughout the centuries.
From April to October the Island is open to guided tours which are passionately taken care of by the present owners, the counts Cavazza.
Who are we
All along the Cavazza family has been living and working at Lake Garda managing in first person a group of businesses connected to open-air tourism (camping sites), boats and the cultivation of olives.
The siblings Cavazza (3 sisters and 4 brothers) opened the Island to guided tours and events to introduce their unique heir to many unknown. Thanks to these activities it is possible to complete important restoration works to improve the centuries old small paradise.
Our philosophy
Who chooses to viit the Island will not only get to know an historical living facility, but will find himself in a warm and familiar atmosphere which will welcome everyone more as a guest than a visitor.
